OLCRYPT
Explicit methods in cryptography, number theory, and computer algebra
OLCRYPT is a PhD program funded by the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg.
Mathematics is an essential part of many other sciences and of key technologies of modern society. Cryptography, number theory and computer algebra as growing branches of mathematics form a central component of information and communications security. In addition, they present extremely active fields of research with numerous exciting open questions and connections to other areas of mathematics, computer science, and physics.
The PhD program OLCRYPT is based at the Institute of Mathematics of the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg. The research areas of OLCRYPT are mathematical and algorithmic foundations of cryptography, number theory and computer algebra, and their applications. The guiding theme is the explicit study of objects from algebra and geometry with a focus on algebraic curves and abelian varieties.
OLCRYPT provides students with an opportunity to pursue cutting edge research and to work in a dynamic and collaborative research atmosphere.
