The University of Oldenburg currently has two strategic partner universities: Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (Netherlands) and Nelson Mandela University (South Africa).

Both partnerships are characterized by a long-standing, interdisciplinary collaboration that spans all schools and includes both teaching and research.
As a cornerstone for the strategic cooperation with the partners, the universities have adopted strategic roadmaps in order to streamline and further develop their cooperation.
