3GO has once again successfully secured study quality funds for the ‘Going on to a PhD after your degree?!’ programme, meaning we will be able to offer the programme again from the winter semester onwards. The programme is aimed at Master’s students from Schools I to IV (excluding Computing Science) who are in the final stages of their degree. It provides guidance on academic careers and PhD study, and aims both to impart fundamental knowledge about the PhD phase (funding opportunities, working techniques and strategies, living arrangements, etc.) as well as to create a space for experimentation and reflection on one’s own strengths and weaknesses.

Are you thinking of doing a PhD but aren’t quite sure where or how to go about it?

Do you already have a dissertation topic but no idea how to fund your research?

Would you like to apply for a PhD position or a scholarship and need to write a research proposal?

Would you like to clarify for yourself whether, and under what conditions, a PhD would be the right choice for you?

Then our programme ‘Do a PhD after your degree?!’ is just right for you!

Detailed information on this, as well as an application form, can be found on the programme’s website. Robert Mitschke and Rea Kodalle from the 3GO Graduate School will be happy to answer any questions you may have at . The application deadline for the winter semester is 4 October.

If, in the course of your work, you have come across students who are interested in a PhD or whom you would advise to pursue one, please feel free to pass this information on to them.
