Measures to improve the compatibility of career and family

Decisive steps in an academic career and starting a family are often taken at the same stage in life. Many find it difficult to equally meet the demands of having a career and family without getting overwhelmed.

The University of Oldenburg wishes to promote a work-life balance that enables scholars to bear responsibility for their family while at the same time pursuing academic excellence. It therefore offers junior professors, junior research group leaders, tenure track professors and postdocs facilities to support them when family circumstances are particularly taxing:

  2. Funds for hiring temporary assistants
