Good Academic Practice
The Allgemeiner Fakultätentag (AFT), the Fakultätentage and the Deutscher Hochschulverband (DHV) have issued a joint paper in German titled "Gute wissenschaftliche Praxis für das Verfassen wissenschaftlicher Qualifikationsarbeiten".
Proper academic conduct and accordance with the guidelines of good academic practice are basic requirements of both research and teaching. A self-critical attitude towards one's own research results as well as compliance with discipline-specific regulations for using sources and data are absolutely essential.
Academic work at the University of Oldenburg is subject to the Principles for safeguarding good academic practice (issued March 17th, 2017), which follow the 1998 recommendations of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
Investigation of academic misconduct are pursued by the university's Commission for Research Impact Assessment and Ethics.
