Oldenburg’s Schlaues Haus (Smart House) is dedicated to the dialogue between science and society, offering insights into the research of the University of Oldenburg and the Jade University of Applied Sciences. This “House of Science” is located in Oldenburg’s city centre and sees itself as an interface between local people and science.
The objective of the Smart House is to bring the topic of science closer to the people of Oldenburg and the region, making it more accessible and understandable for them. Complex issues are conveyed in an exciting fashion in lectures, discussions and exhibitions. Communication between the public and scientists is encouraged.
The scientists at the University of Oldenburg and the Jade University of Applied Sciences have the opportunity to address the interested public with their research topics at the Smart House, thereby representing the social dimension and responsibility of science.
