Founding and Innovation Center (GIZ) of the University of Oldenburg

Start-up Business (Founding and Innovation Center)

The Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg supports students and employees as well as scientists from universities in the region on all matters concerning business start-ups.

A holistic entrepreneurial culture in research and teaching is created through the Foundation Professorship of Entrepreneurship, the Junior Professorship Female Entrepreneurship and the Entrepreneurial and Innovation Centre. For its outstanding work, the university has been named one of the six best start-up universities in Germany by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

Those expressing an interest in starting a business are specifically supported to transfer their ideas, technologies and research results into potential business ideas. Coaches and mentors offer their support with the creation of business plans, providing advice on funding opportunities as well as successful patent exploitation in the framework of Entrepreneurship schools and in consultation with entrepreneurial coaches. Founders are also given access to networks and initial contacts to business partners.

Founding and Innovation Center (GIZ)

The GIZ offers consulting, coaching and training in the founding and start-up phase as well as in the market and growth phase to anyone from the universities in the region interested in starting up their own business. In particular, founders receive support by applying to the EXIST funding scheme (EXIST Business Start-Up Grant and EXIST Transfer of Research). The start-up teams are supported by experienced mentors and the exchange among the group of business starters is strengthened with regular events.
