Project Description

Object of Research

In many ways, Bremen is affected by the consequences of climate change. To meet these challenges, a strategy on climate adaptation and resilience is developed at the municipal and federal level. The BREsilient project puts on this adaptation strategy and supports on the one hand a cost-benefit-oriented prioritisation of the formulated adaptation measures. On the other hand, long-term oriented adaptation measures for the cluster Marine Economy / Logistics under consideration of indirect effects of climate change are developed as much as concrete measures for flood prevention in two selected quarters in Bremen including participation of the local actors.

Method / Approach

Using the methodology of ‚Reallabore‘ (real-life laboratories), the concretion and prioritisation of adaptation measures are carried out on the different systematic levels of the municipality.
