mach.werk becomes mach.werk online

Despite the major challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the positive results and re-registering students from the first run of mach.werk are key motivators for the project team to redesign the additional mach.werk qualification into an online format.

Conductingmach.werk in an online format offers opportunities that are grasped and realised. The additional qualification continues to focus on joint development and exchange on the topic of sustainable management in the food trade with individual reflection and evaluation in one's own company. We create space for flexibility through asynchronous development phases of the learning materials. At the same time, the apprentices are accompanied by a detailed workbook. The workbook supports the apprentices in their own development of the work items through supplementary explanatory videos, auditory instructions and varied work assignments.

Joint digital meetings at the beginning and end of the respective modules enable the exchange of results, ensure the acquisition of knowledge and promote the exchange with the lecturers and the apprentices among themselves. For this purpose, the digital infrastructure and the workbook with the required work materials are made available to the apprentices free of charge.

Concept

The additional qualification consists of five modules.

mach.werk combines theory and practice by including the company as a place of learning. The joint development and exchange of information on a key topic alternates with individual reflection and evaluation in the company. In this way, the content from the modules can be deepened as required. The reciprocal reference of content and reflection/assessment in one's own company results in a project outline, which represents the final examination for certification.

Dates

(preliminary)

mach.werk is to begin on 3 May 2021 with a first digital working meeting. It is planned that each module will be framed by such a meeting at the beginning and end. The individual working phase will take place between these meetings.

In order to get to know each other, clarify questions and get an overview of the course of the additional qualification, a short digital get-to-know-you meeting will take place before the first working meeting on 3 May 2021. Not only the apprentices are invited to attend, but also the training staff from the participating companies.
