Energy transition pilots for the north-west metropolitan region

With dialogue through the transformation: Municipal multipliers strengthen understanding and acceptance of the energy transition.

Brief description and objectives

The changes associated with the energy transition in the Northwest Metropolitan Region - for example in the landscape, in the economic structure or in the energy supply of private households - lead to uncertainty and scepticism among many citizens. The Energiewende-Lots*innen für die Metropolregion Nordwest project aims to promote the dissemination of well-founded information for citizens and an objective discussion on energy transition issues in this region, thereby strengthening understanding and acceptance. Citizens are trained as volunteer energy transition ambassadors with a specialised qualification, thus strengthening fact-based communication at eye level within the population. The guides will be active in information and educational events, dialogue formats and public relations work. By networking administration and civil society, long-term structures are to be established to support municipalities in initiating communication and participation processes in the future.
