Empirical Studies about Language Teaching in Chemistry Education

In the context of Mr David Meyer's doctorate, the teacher training of chemistry teachers is analysed and evaluated with regard to the use of language in chemistry teaching. Three empirical studies provide a suitable framework for revealing new insights into the experiences, attitudes, wishes and future prospects of chemistry teachers. The aim is to sustainably improve the teacher training of chemistry teachers in the area of language sensitivity.

1. Questionnaire study on attitudes and concepts of chemistry students on language sensitivity

2. Pre-post study on self-efficacy expectations of chemistry students in the seminar "Language-sensitive chemistry teaching"

3. Interview study of chemistry teachers on the topic of "Dealing with language in chemistry".
