Matthieu Gaudet obtained two engineering degrees at the University of Lille, in physico-chemical instrumentation and in microsystem and microwave technology. In the following years, he completed a PhD in microsystem technology, with an interest in the fields of microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip.

Over the past 15 years, he has held research positions in world-renowned institutions. He has been a researcher at the London Centre for Nanotechnology (LCN), a laboratory at University College London (UCL) in the UK, at the Institute for Electronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology (IEMN-CNRS) in Lille, France, and has headed the microsystems actuator team at the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems (FhG IPMS) in Cottbus, Germany. He is currently a senior scientist in the Department of Robotics and Control Technology (AMiR) at the University of Oldenburg (UOL).

Matthieu has always worked on the development of systems at the interface between microtechnology and measurement science. He is therefore interested in the application of these techniques to life sciences.
