Textile teaching and learning lab
The Textile Teaching and Learning Lab invites pupils, students and teachers to explore everyday textile culture together. The learning centre is integrated into the teacher training programme for the subject of textile design. Textile didactics, education for sustainable development and aesthetic research form the theoretical background for practical work and research at the Institute of Material Culture.
In the textile teaching and learning laboratory , students work on practical textile and media topics. This includes, for example, washing experiments, dyeing techniques and repairing textiles.
The Institute also houses the "Collection of Everyday Textile Culture", which is used to research clothing of the 20th and 21st centuries. The collection is integrated into practical work with pupils and students.
