6th OLAW Conference - Diagnostics for effective learning in the classroom
On 28 February and 1 March 2013, the conference "Diagnostics for effective learning" took place in the BIS hall of the University of Oldenburg. The conference focussed on the ability to diagnose and support, which is a task of central importance for the professional skills of teachers. Eight speakers from Germany and Switzerland explored various questions relating to diagnostics on a theoretical, empirical and practical basis. The speakers came from the fields of education, psychology and various specialised didactics.

The interested audience
The conference was very well received, with over 200 people filling the BIS hall on the first day. The participants came from schools (all types of schools), study seminars, teacher training centres, universities and other educational institutions. The response from participants and speakers was very good, with many reporting that the variety of presentations was particularly exciting.
5th OLAW symposium:
On Thursday, 18.10.2012, the 5th OLAW symposium took place at the University of Oldenburg in the lecture hall centre [programme] with the title: "Value and effectiveness of research-oriented learning in the teaching profession". Guest speaker Prof Dr Olaf Köller from the IPN (Leibniz Institute of Educational Sciences and Mathematics at Kiel University) gave a lecture on this topic. This was followed by workshops on various topics.
4th OLAW symposium
On Thursday, 22 March 2012, the 4th OLAW symposium took place at the University of Oldenburg, Uhlhornsweg site. Topic: Staged acquisition of competences in lesson analysis. Transcribed lesson scenes were discussed using illustrative examples. With the mix of theoretical principles and active workshop work with transcripts of teaching situations, the response to the symposium was consistently positive. Programme 4th symposium
3rd OLAW symposium
On 6 October 2011, the 3rd OLAW symposium took place at the University of Oldenburg - Wechloy site. With more than 60 guests, the topic of diagnostic competence was presented and discussed from various perspectives and an overview of the status of the project was given.
