"Talking about race is always better than keeping quiet about racism."
(Ulrich Kattmann)
This sentence already describes the concern of my work in biology didactics. Racism is often only associated with social and socio-political issues; prevention opportunities are therefore primarily seen in subjects such as social studies or religion. This fails to recognise that racist statements relate, among other things, to biologistic ideas, which should be addressed in biology lessons. However, because there are only a small number of biology didactic considerations on this topic, I have set myself the goal of developing guidelines for teacher training.
