Welcome to ECOSOLA - Ecosystem-based solutions for resilient urban agriculture in Africa

ECOSOLA aims to strengthen urban and peri-urban agriculture, enhance ecosystem services and functions under the conditions of rapid urbanisation in the targeted regions and develop solutions together with local stakeholders.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) funded project runs between 2017 and 2019. The funding was granted within the funding measure for research and integrated postgraduate education within the Federal Government's strategy for the internationalisation of science and research - partnerships for sustainable solutions in sub-Saharan Africa. ECOSOLA sustains a network of exchange and collaboration between the universities of Oldenburg (UOL), Dar es Salaam (UDSM) and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) and works together with the planning office Planungsgruppe Grün in Bremen (PGG).
