The Electrocatalysis Group of the Institute of Chemistry at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg seeks to hire a
PhD student

(salary according to TV-L E13, 65 %)

in field of preparation of membrane electrode assembly for low temperature fuel cells. The focus will be the preparation and characterization of the catalyst-coated membrane (CCM) as well as the investigation of the performance. The position is to be filled as of 01.05.2018. The employment is limited to a period of three years due to the project and offers the option to work on a PhD degree.

The ideal candidate for this position holds a qualifying university degree (diploma or master) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or in Physics. Practical expertise with the coating, impedance spectroscopy and/or electrochemical characterization methods is key prerequisites.

in field of preparation and characterization of porous Gold-based catalysts for the electrochemical methanol oxidation. The focus will be the preparation of porous Au nanoparticles formed by dealloying, synchrotron-based X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and rotating disk electrode technique. The position is to be filled as of 01.05.2018 (for 3 years).

The ideal candidate for this position holds a Master degree in Chemistry, Material Sciences, Chemical Engineering or in Physics. Practical expertise with the synthesis of materials, synchrotron-based characterization, and electrochemical methods is key prerequisites.
