Computing Science and Energy: How will the energy supply become "smart"? BTC, Oldenburg
Description of the excursion programme:
At the beginning, students are introduced to the company's products and services in the energy sector. In the 2nd phase of the company study visit, relevant basic information on various key topics such as "Smart Metering" or "Geographical Information Systems" (GIS)" is provided. In the subsequent practical phase, the students work in groups to familiarise themselves with various software programmes and procedures at the end of projects. Finally, the results from the practical phase are presented to the other group. The aim is to understand the principle of the "smart meter" and the importance of "smart" energy supply.
