Generative AI
Generative AI
OpenAI's GPT-3 has been available free of charge since November 2022, which is causing a stir in the media and at universities. These so-called chatbots are able to use artificial intelligence to provide answers to questions (also known as prompts ) from a huge pool of data, some of which can hardly be distinguished from human statements. The speed and accuracy of the responses are often astounding, but the answers are not always accurate and up-to-date.
This technology is not new, but its use by the masses is. This raises social and ethical questions and has serious consequences for the education system. What influence will this technology have on research and teaching at universities? What questions and problems arise and how can teachers and students use generative artificial intelligence (GKI) constructively and responsibly?
