The Discovery Days offer various activities, whereby our concept allows students to pursue their individual interests. For this reason, there are only a few activities that are organised in class groups.

There is a large discovery market with various demonstrations, hands-on activities, lectures and information stands on the ring level, in neighbouring seminar rooms and in the Institute of Chemistry and Marine Biology.

There will also be various workshops, laboratory tours and experiments, which have a limited number of participants due to capacity restrictions. Further information can be found below and under the individual programme items.

Registration for activities with limited capacity will be activated on 29 April 2024 and will take place in two phases:

After successful registration, you as a teacher will receive access to a website that you can share with your learning group. There, students can indicate which activities they would like to take part in and prioritise them at the same time. This can be done either together in class or individually from home. To allow pupils to pursue their own interests, very few activities take place in class.

We will then allocate the places by drawing lots and send the re-registering students to the teachers by 17 May.

Late registration phase: 27.5.2024 - 29.5.2024
As there are still places available for some activities, there will be another registration phase at the end of the month.

Overview of the registration periods for activities with limited participation

Note: The places are allocated on a person-by-person basis, but if the student is spontaneously unable to attend the Discovery Days, you can pass on the place yourself.

There are several activities at the Discovery Days that are specifically aimed at you as teachers, including the Physics Teachers' Café and the Teacher Training Station. You can find all offers specifically for teachers via the corresponding filter in the programme. The exhibiting teachers at the Entdecker*innenmarkt are also looking forward to talking to you!

As part of the Discovery Days, you can use the services offered by the Studierendenwerk on the Wechloy campus, although you will have to pay the costs yourself:

• Cafeteria: The cafeteria sells sandwiches, pizzas, cakes and other snacks.
• Canteen: The canteen offers two different main courses daily, at least one of which is vegetarian or vegan, several side dishes, salads and a soup. In order to use the canteen, you and your pupils will receive a participation card from us.
