About us

At the Department of Ethics in Medicine, we conduct research and teaching on ethical issues in medicine and healthcare. Our work focuses on ethical aspects of ageing and old age, assistance technologies and digitalisation as well as socio-cultural aspects of medicine, care and healthcare.

Description of the FWJ place

We are looking for a committed person who is interested in research on interdisciplinary topics at the interface of health services research, care technologies and ethics. The position offered is located in the Department of Ethics in Medicine. The person sought will work in particular on a research project dealing with the distribution of care responsibilities in the use of technologies in care.
Areas of activity are:

  • Research work (information, literature),
  • Support with data collection (field research, e.g. participant observation),
  • Participation in data processing and analysis using empirical social research methods,
  • Support in the correction and editing of scientific texts,
  • Support in the organisation of scientific events.

The person will also gain an insight into the department's other research activities. Active participation in other activities of the department, such as colloquia, journal club, internal training events, etc. is expected.

Desired prior knowledge

  • Interest in medical, care and technical ethics as well as social science issues
  • Enjoy working in a team and exchanging ideas
  • Very good German language skills
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
