Newsletter for doctoral candidates May 2026

Welcome to the May edition of the Graduate Academy's newsletter for doctoral candidates!

After a very eventful April (we will refer to in our monthly highlight, too), in May we are now taking a look at our new workshops and those run by our partners.

Best regards from the team of the Graduate Academy

Our workshops until July 2026

Important information about registration and allocation of places for our workshops!

  • We have new terms and conditions! To ensure interdisciplinarity, no more than half of the available places for each workshop will be allocated to members of the same faculty. By registering, you agree to the Graduate Academy’s terms and conditions.
  • Please also note that registration for the workshops takes place via StudIP and is binding. You cannot cancel your registration yourself. If you do not have StudIP access, please contact graduiertenakademie@uol.de via email.
  • Registration is always provisional at first. The Graduate Academy will verify whether you are eligible to participate and whether spots are available. Afterward, access will be granted in the order of the registration date! (You will then receive an automatic email).
  • If you are unable to attend the event, please cancel your registration by emailing us. This will allow people on the waiting list to move up.

Highlight of the month

Excellence Strategy: Oldenburg and Bremen present their application to an international panel of experts

Another important milestone has been reached. Under the motto “Connecting for Tomorrow”, the Universities of Oldenburg and Bremen have presented their application as a University Consortium of Excellence to an international panel of experts. On this occasion, a highly committed group of early and mid-career researchers from both universities also gave a compelling testimonial of their research areas, collaborations, and the framework conditions for their work. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved and fingers crossed!
