Bacterial decomposition of recalcitrant dissolved organic matter in limnetic ecosystems (DFG).

This project examined the bacterial turnover and decomposition of dissolved organic matter bound in humic substances in Lake Constance. It studied in particular the bacterial decomposition of DOM, amino acids and carbohydrates bound in humic substances in the size fractions <3 KDa, 3-30 KDa, and >30 KDa.
