Scientists, students and doctoral candidates from the Institute of Chemistry and Biology of the Marine Environment (ICBM) are happy to talk about their activities and careers at career fairs or in school lessons on request. Presentations are used to inform pupils about the requirements and prospects of training and future academic appointments in the natural sciences with a marine focus.

The introduction to the ICBM and its three locations provides an insight into the working world of the chemists, biologists, physicists and modellers who work at the Institute. This is followed by information about the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes offered by the Marine Sciences teaching unit at the ICBM. The students are given an overview of the admission requirements and content of the degree programmes and are informed about the individual design options within the degree programme depending on their previous knowledge and interests. In addition, students report on their own experiences of finding a suitable degree programme after leaving school and give initial tips for the transition from school to training.
