Career guidance
Career guidance
Systematic career guidance supports young people in making the right career choice shortly before leaving school. Young people should be offered various opportunities to realistically familiarise themselves with the world of work and select the academic appointment that suits them best.
The sustainable process for structured career guidance was confirmed at the "Transition from school to work" conference jointly organised by the Oldenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and the Institute for Economics Education (IÖB) on 11 February 2010 at the PFL cultural centre in Oldenburg. Almost 300 school and company representatives came to Oldenburg to find out and discuss how the careers orientation of young people at schools can be approached more systematically.
You can read some of the speeches from the symposium in the attached documents.
