About us

The School VI of Medicine and Health Sciences comprises the fields of human medicine, medical physics and acoustics, neurosciences, psychology and health care research. Together with the four regional hospitals, School VI forms the University Medical Centre Oldenburg. Furthermore, the University cooperates closely with the University Medical Centre Groningen.

The vision of the HEARAZ Research Training Group is the comprehensive inter- and transdisciplinary training of young scientists for the efficient development of a new generation of networked technical assistance systems close to the ear ["hearables"] and their integration into everyday life and care practice. Hearables will be developed into a mobile and personalized "health center at the ear". Beyond the improvement of hearing, the goal is to realize assistance in the three areas of perception, communication and mobility for the wearer through technical and social networking with formal and informal care networks. The goal is to increase participation opportunities, taking into account health limitations, increased vulnerability, and increasing diversity among the often older clients.

More information about the Research Training Group can be found at hearaz.de.
