We are looking for talented and motivated candidates with advanced experimental experience in optical spectroscopy of semiconductor microcavities and two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs). The research project will focus on the study of formation and condensation of exciton-polaritons in van der Waals heterostructures of two-dimensional TMDCs, as well as magnetic van der Waals materials.

Since the candidate will independently coordinate this research activity a proven track record in independent research is required (e.g. certified via previous fellowships).

Relevant expertise with the following necessary spectroscopic methods and methods of material preparation is expected: µPL in the visible and infrared, time resolved spectroscopy, photon correlation spectroscopy, optical spectroscopy with angle resolution, magneto-optical spectroscopy preparation of van der Waals heterostructures of transition metal dichalcogenides. Handling of mode-locked laser systems is required. Experience with studies of coupled emitter- microcavity structures is expected. Competent English language skills are required.

The University of Oldenburg is dedicated to increasing the percentage of female employees in the field of science. Therefore, female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
