About us

The project "Digital Transformation of Healthcare Provision in Regional Areas" (TransVer), funded by the State of Lower Saxony under the zukunft.niedersachsen program, scientifically accompanies the transformation process of hospitals into digitalized regional healthcare centers. The goal is to develop new medical and technical solutions that enable attractive, modern, and locally accessible healthcare provision and address the needs of the population. This also includes the question of how hospital facilities can be meaningfully repurposed – for example, with digital assistance systems for new on-site healthcare services. The regional transformation of healthcare is also understood as a societal and social process involving many stakeholders: patients, relatives and employees, citizens, cities and counties, health insurance companies and the researchers involved in the project. The aim is to examine both organisational and societal restructuring processes. New, innovative and needs-based forms of care are to be developed and piloted in a participatory manner.

In the project, the health economics group researches the effects of the transformation process and, together with other project partners, is responsible for developing and implementing a suitable monitoring system for target achievement. In addition, the group analyses and evaluates the innovations tested in the real-world laboratory and in the home environment in terms of costs and other health economic aspects.

Your tasks

  • Research as responsible group leader including the analysis of the transformation process and health economic monitoring of the testing of innovations and conceptualizing of potential transfers to standard care or operator concepts
  • Conceptual preparation of the health economics work package and coordination with neighbouring work packages
  • Development, implementation, and evaluation of expert interviews and organization of an expert workshop
  • Adaptation of the results of neighbouring work packages and derivation of health economics-relevant indicators
  • Consolidation of results from different work packages to define and continuously describe the initial, current, and target situations
  • Analysis of health economic aspects of medical and technical innovations
  • Collaboration with and consultation of other researchers in the interdisciplinary subprojects, including joint publications
  • Coordination and administration of the subproject
  • Promotion of young researchers: Coordination of measures to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, especially in subprojects involving young scientists
  • Consolidating and analysing interdisciplinary results from TransVer's sub-projects, for example in project workshops

Your profile

Requirements:

  • Relevant university degree (diploma (university)/master's) in economics, health economics, health services research, public health, or a related field
  • Relevant doctorate or comparable achievement (proof of independent research ability)
  • Expertise in the field of health economic evaluation, demonstrated through publications
  • High degree of independence and initiative
  • Very good knowledge of quantitative methods

Advantageous:

  • Very good written and spoken German and English
  • Experience in project management and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Research experience in the field of health services research and/or medical and technical innovations
