School VI - Medicine and Health Sciences comprises the fields of human medicine, medical physics and acoustics, neurosciences, psychology and health care research. Together with the four regional hospitals, School VI forms the University Medical Centre Oldenburg. There is also close co-operation with the University Medical Centre at the University of Groningen.

In the Department of Physiology of the Department of Human Medicine of Faculty VI - Medicine and Health Sciences, a position is available as soon as possible as a

Research Associate
(Postdoc, m/f/d, pay grade E13 TV-L)

full-time (currently 39.8 hours per week) as a maternity leave and probable subsequent parental leave replacement. The position is suitable for part-time work.

Tasks include:

Your tasks will include scientific services in research and teaching. The research tasks include experimental activities in the neurophysiological laboratory including work with animal models (data collection, analysis and presentation). The Department of Physiology teaches in the degree programmes Human Medicine, Molecular Biomedicine and Physics, Technology and Medicine. Participation in extramural courses is expected.

Required qualifications:

Recruitment requirements are a completed scientific university degree (Diplom (Uni)/Master) in the field of human medicine or natural sciences as well as a completed doctorate in the natural sciences.

Preferred qualifications:

Knowledge of the physiology of the auditory system in common mammalian models is desirable.

Expertise in synaptic transmission and signal processing in the auditory system is advantageous. We are looking for a person who can teach Molecular Physiology as part of the Molecular Biomedicine programme in English. A good command of the English language is required.
