Methods in spatially explicit animal ecology (Course)
The course gives an introduction into current methods for spatially explicit analyses in animal ecology. The course has a field ecological part with the subsequent analysis of the field data using statistics software and GIS. The focus of the analyses is on dispersal, isolation and size of habitats, spatial distribution. The course programme comprises mapping methods, analysis of spatial habitat configuration, recording the incidence of species with different mobility and life history, mark-recapture experiments and optimal sampling design for building habitat models.
