What are TaskCards?
Teachers can use TaskCards to create digital pinboards on which they can collect texts and media content together with students. Digital pinboards are a versatile didactic tool to support teaching and learning processes regardless of time and place. A TaskCard can consist of texts, images, links and various file attachments (similar to the Padlet). The pinboards are private and can be made public via a link. Please ensure that you do not publish any personal data on publicly accessible boards.
Why TaskCards?
The platform runs on German servers and is GDPR-compliant (data protection-compliant alternative to Padlet). The University of Oldenburg provides lecturers with a total of 200 licences up to and including December 2030, with which lecturers can create an unlimited number of pinboards.
How can lecturers at the University of Oldenburg obtain a TaskCards licence?
To obtain access data for https://uol.taskcards.app/, please contact the University Didactics team at . We will create an account for you and you will receive an email with an invitation link that you can use to register at https://uol.taskcards.app/ with a user name and password. The licence is then valid for the account at https://uol.taskcards.app/.
Please note: If you are already registered at https://www.taskcards.de/ with the same email address, this account will not be affected by any changes. This means that the licence for the unlimited creation of pinboards does not apply there. Pinboards already created under the URL can still be found there.
How do I create a TaskCards pinboard?
You can see all your pinboards on the dashboard.
You can create new pinboards or folders using the "+" symbol at the bottom right.
What types of pinboards are available on TaskCards?
Pinboard: The cards are arranged in columns on the pinboard.
Timeline: The cards are placed on a horizontal line on the timeline.
Blackboard: The cards can be placed anywhere on the blackboard or whiteboard and linked together like a mind map.
World map: Pins or cards can be placed on a world map.
Blog: In the blog, the cards are displayed one below the other.
How can I use TaskCards in my teaching?
You can use task cards for
- brainstorming and joint mind mapping (e.g. to record ideas and put them into context)
- an anonymous collection of questions (e.g. to collect feedback on seminar content)
- an asynchronous round of introductions (e.g. each participant fills in a column)
- Digital weekly schedules that show the tasks and to-do's
- the provision of accompanying material for events (e.g. videos, links, texts, PDFs)
- the creation of a glossary (e.g. to find definitions of terms together)
- the bundling of various learning materials (e.g. videos, links, texts, PDFs)
- online collaboration between students (e.g. to display the results of group work here)
- a centralised, digital backup of results (e.g. each student writes down a takeaway for themselves at the end of the lecture or a keyword at the beginning that has stuck from the last lecture)
- documentation and organisation of project work (e.g. a mini-portfolio)
