Significant changes to degree programmes
Significant changes to degree programmes
If significant changes are made to a degree programme, a justification must be submitted to the MWK and the accreditation agency must be consulted. If the changes are extensive, the degree programme in question may have to be reaccredited.
Changes to degree programmes usually come into force in the winter semester; however, in the case of title changes, the admissions regulations must come into force before the start of the application procedure.
What are the main changes to a degree programme?
Significant changes to degree programmes are e.g:
- Changes
- the name
- the degree title / academic degree
- the standard period of study
- the place of study
- the curricular standard value
- Introduction / abolition of specialisations or specialisations
- Closure of the degree programme
If a name change is accompanied by a drastic change in the content of the degree programme, it may be necessary to close the existing degree programme and establish a new one.
