Ensuring the provision of care is one of the greatest challenges of the future. The use of new technology is a promising way of countering the otherwise expected shortage of carers with innovative approaches to human-technology interaction. In recent years, many innovative technological developments have been driven forward in the care context. The PIZ (Care Innovation Centre) research project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), aims to scientifically investigate the benefits and challenges of new solutions in the field of human-technology interaction. In addition to surveying practical needs, conducting research into the development and evaluation of new technologies and reflecting on ethics and responsibility, the University of Oldenburg is developing higher education qualification and training programmes for professional carers, patients and relatives.
