Medical Humanities@Oldenburg: Workshop with lectures
19 June 2025, 17:30-20:30 - Karl Jaspers-Haus, Oldenburg
Initially developed as a corrective to medicine and healthcare with a strong focus on the natural sciences and technology, the medical humanities have developed into an increasingly important interdisciplinary field of research in recent decades. Here, medical, social and cultural science perspectives on socio-economic, political and cultural aspects and conditions of medicine, health and illness as well as their treatment and negotiation are intertwined. The workshop is dedicated to potentials and current challenges in the field of medical humanities.

Katharina Fürholzer (Koblenz): "An den Grenzen: Medical Humanities as a key to contemplation and discussion"
