Dr Jasmina Sterz has been appointed Professor of Medical Education at the Department of Human Medicine. Prior to this, she was deputy director of the Institute for Medical Didactics and Clinical Simulation at Universiy Hospital Frankfurt am Main from 2022 and worked as a specialist in orthopaedics and trauma surgery at the hospital's Clinic for Trauma, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery. She also served as Deputy Head of the Frankfurt Interdisciplinary Simulation Centre.
Sterz studied human medicine at the University of Frankfurt, where she also received her doctorate in 2017. From 2013, she worked at the University Hospital Frankfurt am Main, where she completed her specialist training. At the same time, she taught in the human medicine programme and other medical-related programmes at the University of Frankfurt. In 2023, she received the Theodor Stern Foundation Award for her conception and implementation of an interdisciplinary training ward.
Sterz also completed a Master of Medical Education degree at the University of Heidelberg. In 2023, she habilitated at the University of Frankfurt in orthopaedics and trauma surgery.
The physician and educationalist researches the influence of different teaching and feedback methods on the acquisition of skills by medical students. For example, she investigates the influence of feedback in practical examinations on learning, but also on the course of the examination.
