Structure is one of the most important elements of writing, yet often taken for granted. This part of the workshop will focus on what you can do before starting large writing tasks, such as formulate clear and strong research goals, plan and sketch your text’s main sections, and consider how source will be used.
We will also review of methods to read more efficiently, what makes texts difficult to understand, and to make better notes when dealing with unfamiliar texts. We will also do some text analysis you can use to better understand passages (paragraphs, chapters, etc.), which of course can be mirrored in your own writing.
