Evaluation of the project
Early promotion of the healthy development and educational participation of children and adolescents (KuJ) with clinical and multimodal care needs through cross-sectoral, outreach diagnostics, treatment and support by the KJPPP together with schools (regional education and counselling centres; ReBBZ+T for short) and child and youth welfare services (youth welfare office) (JH for short) / "DreifürEins" (three-for-one)
Project description
Objectives of the project: The DreiFürEins project aims to promote the early healthy development and educational participation of children and adolescents with clinical and multimodal care needs through cross-sectoral, outreach diagnostics, treatment and support by paediatric and adolescent psychiatry, psychosomatics and psychotherapy together with schools and child and youth welfare services. DreiFürEins is funded by the Innovation Committee of the Joint Federal Committee as part of an announcement on the topic-specific funding of new forms of care for the further development of care in statutory public health insurance.
The University of Oldenburg is responsible for the evaluation of the programme's content.
Based on the project objectives of DreiFürEins, the content evaluation pursues three central research objectives, which can be further divided into one primary and two secondary objectives in terms of their importance:
- The primary objective of the content evaluation is to examine the intervention effect of cross-sectoral, outreach diagnostics, treatment and support - provided by the KJPPP together with the IG-ReBBZ+T and youth welfare offices - on the reduction of mental and behavioural disorders of KuJ with clinical and multimodal care needs.
- The first, secondary objective of the content evaluation is to analyse the intervention effect of cross-sectoral, outreach diagnostics, treatment and support - by the KJPPP together with the IG-ReBBZ+T and youth welfare offices - on the improvement of health-related quality of life, the reduction of school absenteeism and the improvement of school grades of KuJ with clinical and multimodal care needs.
- The second, secondary objective of the content evaluation is to examine the intervention effect of cross-sectoral care - provided by the KJPPP together with IG-ReBBZ+T and youth welfare offices - on co-operation, self-efficacy, the experience of stress and the risk of burnout among professionals.
Methodical design
A prospective case-control study will be conducted to achieve the project objectives. This means that the study will analyse the success of the intervention in an intervention group of KuJ with clinical and multimodal care needs and compare it with a control group of KuJ with similar symptoms, i.e. KuJ who also have clinical and multimodal care needs. In this respect, the study pursues a quantitative-empirical, hypothesis-testing, longitudinal approach and is based on four measurement repetitions and an intervention-control group comparison. The effects on the KuJ are analysed longitudinally using a cross-lagged design with largely the same measurement instruments at three measurement points in order to test the stability of the characteristics and to obtain increased evidence for causal effect statements. Both the self-assessments of the KuJ and the assessments of the parents and teachers are taken into account.
