Trade fair in Husum 2008
ForWind presents new developments at trade fair in Husum
ForWind, the centre for wind energy research at the Universities of Oldenburg and Hanover, will be presenting current research projects and training concepts at the international trade fair for the wind industry, HUSUM WindEnergy, which will be held in Husum from 9 to 13 September 2008.
At the Oldenburg Energy Cluster stand (Hall 4, B28), a newly developed anemometer and an original method for the dynamic determination of power curves in wind turbines will be presented. In the field of offshore research, ForWind will be showing a demonstration of the bubble curtain, which is used as a noise reduction measure in the construction of offshore wind turbines.
Under the motto "Science meets practice - innovations for wind energy", ForWind is also organising a specialist congress on 11 September 2008, 10.00 to 17.00, which is being supported by GE Energy. The topics range from offshore wind energy issues to wind measurement methods and generator concepts. Two speakers will each present a topic from the perspective of science and practice. According to Managing Director Dr Stephan Barth, ForWind is focusing on an intensive exchange between industry and science with the congress. Basic research opens up new fields of action for industry, and companies show science what has proven itself in practice and where there is a need for further research.
The trade fair will conclude on 13 September with the windcareer job fair in the congress rooms at HUSUM WindEnergy, where Forwind will present the ForWind Academy further education programme and the wind energy technology and management further education course.
Participation in the congress is free of charge. Registration on the Internet.
