Physics students make a special contribution
Physics student Matthias Langemeyer and Jannes Precht, an early student in the subject of physics, were honoured with the OLB/EWE Prize for "special achievements in their studies". A total of eleven students (including two early students who are still at school) from the University of Oldenburg were honoured with this award.
The jury assessed outstanding credits, very good examination grades and short study times, as well as exceptional commitment to projects and initiatives or voluntary work.
The individual prizes were endowed with 500 euros and 100 euros for so-called early students. These students take individual modules in selected subjects alongside their school attendance and have to master the same amount of material as other students.
Oldenburgische Landesbank AG (OLB) and Energieversorgung Weser-Weser-Ems (EWE AG) have been awarding the OLB/EWE Prize for nine years now. In doing so, they are continuing the tradition that has existed at the University of Oldenburg since 1986 of honouring special achievements by students.
Prof. Dr. Sabine Doering, Vice President of the University, Ulf Mindermann, Head of Human Resources and Organisational Development at EWE AG, and Bernd Span, Member of the Board of Management of OLB, took part in the award ceremony.
