"The Institute of Physics, in cooperation with the Cäcilienschule Oldenburg, is organising a workshop for pupils on this topic on Friday and Saturday, 22 and 23 January 2010, at the University of Oldenburg (Wechloy campus). The organiser is Dr Ludger Hannibal, private lecturer at the Institute of Mathematics and teacher of Mathematics, Physics and Computing Science at the Cäcilienschule.

Pupils from year 10 onwards from grammar schools in Oldenburg and the region are invited. The workshop aims to give them an insight into modern physics beyond the school curriculum, encourage their interest and inspire them to study. It offers a varied programme with experiments and work in small groups. The pupils are supervised by student teachers from the Institute of Physics. Participation is free of charge. Materials, magazines and catering are provided as the workshop is funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation as part of the "NaT-Working: Science and Technology, Pupils, Teachers and Scientists Network" programme and sponsored by Landessparkasse zu Oldenburg.
