Theory of relativity: physics workshop for school pupils

"The Theory of Relativity" is the topic of a workshop for pupils, which the Institute of Physics is organising in cooperation with the Cäcilienschule Oldenburg on Saturday, 28 January, 9.00 am to 6.00 pm, at the University of Oldenburg (Wechloy campus, room W2 1-148). The workshop is being held for the tenth time this year. It is aimed at pupils in the region from Year 10 upwards who are interested in physics. The organiser is Dr Ludger Hannibal, private lecturer at the Institute of Mathematics and teacher of Mathematics, Physics and Computing Science at the Cäcilienschule.

Participants will gain an insight into an exciting and complex topic in modern physics. The workshop aims to stimulate their interest and encourage them to study. It offers a varied programme with experiments and work in small groups. The pupils are supervised by student teachers from the Institute of Physics. Thanks to funding from the Landssparkasse zu Oldenburg, materials, specialist journals and catering are provided. Participation is free of charge.
