Giovanni Andres Pabon Restrepo, Colombia (PPRE 2007/09)
After more than 6 years of living in Europe and working in the European wind sector (Germany and Denmark) Giovanni returned to Colombia at the beginning of 2014 to be part of the climate change directorate of the Colombian Ministry of Environment, where he currently serves as coordinator of the Mitigation group.
Since then Giovanni has worked mainly in policy formulation, such as the regulation of the first renewable energy law in Colombia, as well as the formulation of national programs for sustainable rural energization with renewable energy and the efficient use of biomass for cooking.
Giovanni is a member of Colombia's negotiating team for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as a mitigation coordinator for the Independent Association of Latin America and the Caribbean AILAC. He has been already in two sessions of negotiation in Bonn and in Marrakech.
During June 2015 Giovanni also had the chance to teach a renewable energy module in EAFIT University in Medellín - Colombia.
