Wind destroys solar plant - PV panels fly into biogas plant
Local news sent by Dr. Konrad Blum in April 2018.
At 6.45 pm, police said Thursday, a sudden gale pulled through Catharinau (Uhlstädt-Kirchhasel) in Germany and uncovered the stable roof of an agricultural cooperative covering an area of about 100 square meters. Roof sheets and solar modules fell victim to the storm.
Debris damaged a nearby biogas plant and a ground based solar system.
The flying parts would also have damaged an adjacent biogas plant and an adjacent solar system. The total damage was estimated at 500,000 Euros. Fortunately, people were not harmed.
