Postdoctoral Fellowships for African Researchers in the Engineering Sciences

Dr. Zivayi Chiguvare from Zimbabwe, who did his PhD at Oldenburg University and is presently heading the RE-Research Activities at University of Namibia as Senior Lecturer in the Physics Department was invited early April this year to University of Kassel.
As part of the international expert panel of the call for “Postdoctoral Fellowships for African Researchers in the Engineering Sciences” within the funding initiative “Knowledge for Tomorrow - Cooperative Research Projects in Sub- Saharan Africa” Dr. Chiguvare participated in the Selection Conference 2019, hosted by the Department of Agricultural Engineering at University of Kassel in Witzenhausen, held from April 3st to April 5th 2019
Prof. Dr. Oliver Hensel from the Department of Agricultural Engineering at the University of Kassel is coordinating the Fellowship programme within the Volkswagen Foundation funding initiative "Knowledge for Tomorrow – Cooperative Research Projects in Sub-Saharan Africa". The initiative aims at contributing to the development of research and research capacity in Sub-Saharan Africa and to facilitate sustainable career development for African researchers.
Currently, six postdoctoral fellows from different African countries have been granted with a 3-year fellowship (till 2019) to conduct their research projects, while being based at African research institutions, in close collaboration with German research partners.
All currently funded junior and senior fellows of this program were invited to submit a full proposal until 31 January 2019.
