NEXT ENERGY (Prof. Dr. Carsten Agert)
NEXT ENERGY is an independent research institute located on the natural sciences campus of Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg. It was founded to develop solutions to make the energy supply of the future economically viable, environmentally friendly and safe. The recently established research center now employs more than 90 people.
The institute is organized under the umbrella of the non-profit association “EWE Forschungsinstitut für Energietechnologie e.V.“. Members of the association include the largest regional energy supplier EWE AG, which is the primary sponsor, as well as the University of Oldenburg and the state of Lower Saxony.
NEXT ENERGY focuses its research on Fuel Cells, Energy Storage and Silicon Thin-Film Photovoltaics. It carries out application-oriented and interdisciplinary work, ranging from materials research to systems development, in close collaboration with partners from both scientific and industrial sectors.
