Mattermost channel active

The HPC support team set up a channel on the instant messaging service Mattermost

We've set up an HPC user channel on the instant messaging service Mattermost.

Our primary goal is to get closer to our users. This regards news and relevant information from our as well as needs and questions from your side.

You can join us by clicking this link and logging in with your university credentials (abcd1234).

We added four channels:

#1 News
- In this channel, the HPC support team informs the users about the most important information, changes and events.

#2 Software News   (You must join this group manually!)
- In this channel, the support team informs the users about the most recent software updates and newly installed software.

#3 HPC Questions   (You must join this group manually!)
- In this channel, the users have room for asking general HPC questions like job scripts, accounts, login problems, and other technical stuff.  Feel free to exchange experiences and to help each other, but of course, we will also look into your posts and try to help where we can.

#4 Scientific Computing
- In this channel, the users have room for asking about simulation methods, specific software solutions and other aspects of scientific computing. Also, it is primarily designed as a user-to-user exchange platform. We will take a look at what you write but we won't participate that much.

Please note, that our mail address  still should be the first place to go, should you have any request regarding new software modules or other questions. The chat is an additional service, which should complement our support and which should get our users better together.

We highly recommend to join our Mattermost group and to stay online on a regular basis!
