Biography

Kai Siedenburg is Marie Sklodowska-Curie individual postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Medical Physics and Acoustics, University of Oldenburg, Germany. He studied Mathematics and Musicology at Humboldt University Berlin and as a Fulbright visiting student at the University of California, Berkeley. He obtained his PhD in Music Technology from McGill University, Montreal. In 2017, Kai Siedenburg received the best paper award at the Int. Conf. on Digital Audio Effects (DAFX) in Edinburgh, UK, and he is co-editor of a volume part of the Springer Handbook on Auditory Research series, called Timbre: Acoustics, Perception, and Cognition. 

In 2019, Kai Siedenburg received a Freigeist Fellowship from the Volkswagen Foundation to start a new lab on music perception at the University of Oldenburg.
