Conceptual orientation
The ELMO Learning clinic understands effective learning support as an interplay between your child, the learning material and the person providing support (our trained students of Special Needs Education and Rehabilitation). The concept is based on the scientific findings of Breuninger and Schley (2014). In this way, we ensure that your child receives the best possible individualised support.
The aim of learning support is to positively influence the child's inner dialogue with the subject matter - through a positive relationship with the child (relationship dialogue, e.g. through encouragement, appreciation, resource orientation) and individual work on the child's learning status (learning dialogue, e.g. through motivating and effective methods).
Central principles of our work
- Evidence-based: use of scientifically sound and tested measures and methods (based on the S3 guidelines of the professional associations)
- Individualisation: individual design of support for each child
- Resource-orientation: identification and promotion of individual strengths
- Addressing specific difficulties: Work on the identified problem areas
- Holistic approach: consideration of related areas of development in diagnostics and support (e.g. concentration, learning behaviour)
- Co-determination and co-operation: close contact with parents and teachers, involvement of the child in the design of learning support
