The subject Master's degree programme in Sport Science is designed as a 120 CP degree programme and has a standard period of study of 4 semesters (see figure below).

It comprises the compulsory modules "Preparatory Course" (spo805), "Social and Cultural Science Perspectives on Sport" (spo815), "Natural Science Perspectives on Sport" (spo825) and "Research Methods I" (spo835) with a total of 36 CP.

The module "Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Sport" (spo845), which is compulsory in the 2nd semester, follows on from the content of the first three modules in the basic area and marks the beginning of the specialisation area. In this area, which comprises a total of 30 CP, students can choose either a module focusing on "Social Heterogeneity in Sport" (spo875) or a module focusing on "Talent in Sport" (spo885) in the 3rd semester. The compulsory module "Research Methods II" (spo865), which also takes place in the 3rd semester, builds on the methodological foundations of the previous semester and is linked in terms of content to the compulsory elective modules taking place at the same time.

The area of application comprises the modules "Sports Science Internship I" (spo855) in the 2nd semester and "Sports Science Internship II" (spo895) in the 3rd semester with a total of 24 CP.

In the Master's final module, the Master's thesis (27 CP), accompanied by a colloquium (3 CP), is completed in the 4th semester.
