By providing basic and methodological knowledge for the analysis of environmental systems and depending on the individually acquired profile, the degree qualifies for positions in various areas. Aspects related to the environment increase in their relevance in many professional fields and especially here graduates can contribute their interdisciplinary perspective to answer scientific environmental questions. This applies, for example, to environmental monitoring, planning and precaution.Graduates can work in the following areas:
- nature conservation and landscape planning
- environmental monitoring
- the renaturation of ecosystems
- the management of protected areas,
- soil and water protection
- environmental informatics.
In addition, the Bachelor´s programme can also have a research-oriented focus.
The skills acquired in the various disciplines of the natural sciences can then be expanded in an advanced Master's programme. Here, science-oriented degree programmes at the University of Oldenburg as well as elsewhere can be pursued.
